WHAT IS IT — TECAR therapy (Transfer of Electric Capacitive And Resistive energy) is a non-invasive electrotherapy that applies 0.3–1.2 MHz radiofrequency to deep tissue, generating endogenous heat (capacitive mode targets superficial tissue; resistive mode targets deep tissue and bone). It is used as an adjunct to increase local circulation, reduce pain perception, and improve tissue extensibility before or during exercise — not as a stand-alone cure.
WHO IT HELPS — Patients with localised musculoskeletal pain, post-acute sports injuries (muscle strains, ligament sprains, joint effusion), subacute tendinopathies, post-surgical oedema, chronic myofascial trigger points, and joint stiffness limiting range of motion during rehabilitation. It is NOT a substitute for progressive loading in tendinopathy or strength rehabilitation.
